| Some general notes:
- You can get the i7-920 for $200 at MicroCenter, in-store pickup only (as of August 2009, that is still an excellent price).
- The 4890 makes some low-volume, high-frequency screeching sounds periodically. It is suggested that this is due to capacitors on high-end cards, but it doesn't bother me too much.
- If you want a monitor, I highly recommend shopping at the Dell Outlet. You can get refurbished models at severe discounts with a 3-year Advanced Exchange warranty. This means if you have any problem covered by their warranty, they'll ship you a new monitor in 1-2 business days before you even return it. I had a problem with my Dell 2709W A01, and they switched me to an A03 within two days.

The Antec P183 offers great cable management, leaving open airflow to cool the components. Here's a review of the P183 at SilentPcReview, one of my favorite hardware sites. Furthermore, the Corsair HX620W PSU is modular, letting you choose which cables you need. I'd show you the other side of the case, but it was hard enough getting the panel on in the first place :) I only have two drives right now. Instead of getting an adapter for the 2.5" OCZ Vertex, I taped some cushioning material to the bottom and rested it in this empty space above the bottom hard drive rack. I barely move my case, so it should be fine. |
